First studio album (and one of the adorable MoonJune Records very first releases) of this assembly of Soft Machine veterans (from different incarnations). I read, that these were the last studio recordings of the late great Elton Dean, so this album is a legacy on its own. Later this band remorphed into the old band name. Whatever the name, great Canterburian fusion!

What a range of virtuosity and invention! There's delicate, exquisite beauty; intense, dark moods; complex, intricate explorations; warmth and contrasting sparse exposure. I've picked "Pump Room" purely because it reminded me on hearing (without even seeing the name!) of Jeff Beck's "The Pump" :).
